HOW BAIL BONDS WORK
When anyone is arrested in Huntington Park, they will be taken to the Huntington Park Police Department located at 6542 Miles Ave, Huntington Park, CA 90255. At the Police Department, the arrestee will go through the booking process to allow the jail to identify who the person is and to process all of his or her charges. Upon entering the police department all of the defendant’s personal belongings will be documented and put away for safekeeping for the remainder of the time that the inmate spends in jail.
After that step is completed, the jailer, whom handles and documents all of the inmates in the jail, will then call over the defendant and gather all of his or her information to identify them specifically. Once the jailer has finished with that step of the booking process, he or she will send the arrestee to have their fingerprints scanned with a machine called LiveScan. The sole purpose of scanning an inmate’s fingerprints is to determine whether or not the inmate has any outstanding warrants or is wanted by any other agency in the U.S. The LiveScan machine is directly connected to the Department of Justice and the fingerprints are sent to them and they will run them through their databases and send the results back to the jailer.
The jailer at the Police Department will not be able to clear any inmate for bail until he or she has received the results from the fingerprint scan. This process takes quite a bit of time and could make the entire booking process take several hours depending on how busy the jail is and when the jailer receives the results. The jailer cannot clear any inmate for bail until he or she has received the fingerprint scan results, which means that no bail bondsman can bail out any inmate until the jailer clears the inmate for bail.
While our bail bondsman waits for the inmate to be cleared, the agent will contact you to set a time and place for you two to meet so that you could fill out all of the necessary paperwork needed to complete the bail bonds process. When all of the paperwork has been filled out and the defendant is cleared for bail, our agent at Huntington Park Bail Bonds will go to the jail and turn the bond in immediately to ensure that the inmate is released from jail in the shortest amount of time possible. Once the inmate is released from jail, he or she will need to sign some paperwork to complete the bail bond.
After all of that is completed, our agent will hand one of you two an official bail bonds receipt, which will contain all of the defendant’s charges and court information. It is very important that you do not lose this piece of paper and that the defendant shows up to all of his or her court dates until the case is resolved or dismissed.
